Who we are
British Skateboard Racing (BSR) is a UK-wide organisation for Downhill, Slalom and Street Luge, built by and for the athletes.
Founded by racers, our mission is simple: to support and represent the racing community.
BSR brings riders from all skateboard racing disciplines together, providing a clear and credible voice while representing their interests at a national and international level. It also brings the disciplines into a single, coordinated structure, including shared standards, safety guidance, recognised events, rankings, and clear processes for representing the UK at international competitions.
We work with athletes, organisers, venues and governing bodies to make it easier to take part and simpler to organise. This includes improving access for new riders, ensuring experienced racers get the support they deserve, giving organisers access to the structure they need, and providing venues and governing bodies with clear communication and assurance.
BSR builds on more than 20 years of experience from UKSSA, using that foundation to support and develop skateboard racing in the UK.
Above all, BSR is here to strengthen the racing community by protecting what already exists, providing the structure needed for the sport to grow, and helping the next generation of riders find a pathway into the sport.
Our Origins
British Skateboard Racing grew out of UKSSA (UK Slalom Skateboard Association), the UK’s long-standing organisation for slalom skateboarding. For over 20 years, UKSSA supported the discipline through event organisation, rider development and international representation.
The experience and infrastructure developed through UKSSA now underpin the wider development of skateboard racing through BSR.
